Riesling March 12, 2016
2014 Best’s Great Western Riesling
Wine Rating

92
Best’s is a consistently good producer, however it is usually their red wines that get most of the accolades, over the years they continue to craft some very good white wines, in particular the Rieslings have proved their quality and propensity to age.

The 2014 release is a very light yellow in the glass as you would expect given it’s age, the nose is pristine and pretty with citrus flowers, cut green apple and lime with some slightly developed slate and petroleum characters in the background.

Lemon and lime are the stars of this wine, they are set against slate like acidity, the mid palate has a fullness that’s short lived with crunchy, green apple driving a long and refreshing finish.

Drink now, or hold for decades.
