Review Detail
2002 Pewsey Vale Riesling
Wine Rating
89
Thankfully the cork held up, which is somewhat of a lottery with older Australian whites, the wine is a fully mature golden yellow in colour and gives a nose that is void of primary fruits and replaced with lanolin, honey and marzipan notes.
The palate has citrus somewhere in the background helping to give balance to the rich and developed stone fruit characters which have an understated creaminess to them. An enjoyable drink that is best consumed in the next year or two.
