Review Detail
2017 Robert Stein Riesling
Wine Rating
96
This is a world class Riesling produced in Mudgee from vines that are over 40 years old. Still somewhat of a secret to many Australian wine buyers, but hopefully not for too much longer.
A wonderfully floral and aromatic nose of jasmine, lemon blossom, crushed rock and lime that moves seamlessly to a piercingly pure palate that continues the floral jasmine and kaffir lime thread. There is a slate like acidity that provides great texture and frames lime, green apple and lemon blossom. Texturally there is an enjoyable touch of bitter lemon to finish.
Hard to put down now, but will also reward long term cellaring.
