2017 has been a great vintage for Riesling in the Clare, the floral nature, but crystalline structure has become a consistent thread of the good wines made in the vintage.
A light yellow in the glass, with a nose of candied finger lime and white flowers. The palate has a background touch of exotic spice that gives complexity to citrus fruits that are light on their feet. Whether it’s residual sugar or sweetness of primary fruit there is a nice textural contrast between fruit and acid that provides significant length and an enjoyable mouth feel.
