Review Detail
2011 Port Phillip Estate Salasso Rose
Wine Rating
92
The 2011 Salasso rose is a glowing endorsement of Sandro Mosel's winemaking skills in the tough 2011 vintage, this rose has all the elements, texture, depth of red fruits with a savoury edge.
The wine is a strawberry red with an orange hue, it has benefited from some time in barrel with ever so slight barrel ferment characters providing contrast to drying cherry and richer strawberry fruit, there is even a touch of tannin on the racy finish.
A wine that definitely has the structure to support food.
