2016 Toolangi Yarra Valley Rose
Wine Rating

93
True to history when Toolangi decide they are going to produce a new wine they look to enlist the support of some of the best winemakers based on the variety or style. It was an obvious choice to have Dominque Portet be the custodian of the 2016 Rose.

A beautiful salmon to burnt orange hue in the glass, the nose has top notes of wild strawberry with a touch of creaminess that is pulled together with a thread of citrus.

The palate balances juicy, vibrant and textural red berry fruits with lemon zest and more structural savory notes giving dimensions and taking this from an easy drinking summer proposition to a more serious wine that stands by itself, but will work well with food.
