Review Detail
2022 Angullong Fossil Hill Rose
Wine Rating
94
This is becoming one of my favourite Rose's that i try regularly, it is made using Sangiovese which has a great affinity with the style and consistently shows structure and complexity that is not a given with Australian Rose.
The nose sees wild strawberry and black cherry with bracken and spice.
The palate has an underlying savoury thread, with a crunch of cherry pip and sour edged cherry that allows slightly riper, fuller red fruits to show themselves but at no point become too boisterous. There is some new season pear somewhere in the mix before savoury etched wild strawberry frames the finish.
