Sangiovese August 15, 2013
2009 Dal Zotto Sangiovese Cabernet
Wine Rating

87
A surprisingly deep red in colour given the wine is Sangiovese dominant, the nose is youthful and primary with lifted plum and a heady hit of oak.

The palate is sweet fruited initially and centred around plum, the sangiovese becomes a little more obvious with savoury tannins on the mid to back palate.

It is hard to get over a perceived fruit sweetness on the finish that renders the wine more syrupy than structured.
