2016 D’Sas Heathcote Sangiovese
Wine Rating

92
A variety that has well and truly found it’s home in Heathcote. The 2016 vintage produced a wine of great colour and dominant primary fruit, yet retained the subtle, savoury complexity the variety is known for.

The nose gives red cherry, blackberry and rhubarb with richness from French oak and tomato leaf aromatics in the background.

Medium to full bodied the wine unravels layers of fruit with dark cherry giving way to blackberry and plum, tannins are fine yet firm with a taut line of acidity that keeps things flowing. The wine finishes a touch of bitumen and earth to red cherry with significant length.
