Review Detail
2018 Angullong Fossil Hill Sangiovese
Wine Rating
93
The nose enjoys vibrant and varietal dark cherry, wild strawberry with some alpine herbs and background oak impact. Medium to full bodied, with mouth coating cherry fruit which is lifted by a veneer of oak and a fine tannin structure. The herbaceous notes from the nose have a subtle impact throughout, but it is the generous cherry fruit that really shines on the mid palate. The finish has the savoury flair the variety is known for, with good length.
