Sauvignon Blanc April 25, 2014
2011 Helen’s Hill 'Evolution' Fume Blanc
Wine Rating

92
A light yellow to straw in colour, this wine is a good example of the fume blanc interpretation of the Sauvignon Blanc grape that is gaining momentum in the Yarra Valley.

The time in oak gives a more savoury and elegant edge to the tropical fruits on the nose, the wine has good texture on the palate with a grapefruit astringency against some lanolin richness and spiced barrel ferment influences. The finish has an impressive line and mouthfeel.
