Sauvignon Blanc November 10, 2014
2014 Austins & Co Six Foot Six Sauvignon Blanc
Wine Rating

90
The first thing you will notice about this wine is it’s moderate alcohol, something that certainly suits the variety and style in which this Sauvignon Blanc has been made; it’s all about texture and mouth feel as opposed to overt varietal characteristics. Don’t get me wrong the wine is still very much a Sauvignon Blanc, but has a mineral and savoury edge.

The wine is a very light yellow in the glass, the nose is restrained with subtle gooseberry and backed by briny citrus. Crunchy acidity with green apple and lemon curd on the palate with enough textural grip to provide contrast and depth. The wine has powdery acidity and understated gooseberry to finish, good length.
