Review Detail
2015 Moss Wood Ribbon Vale Semillon Sauvignon Blanc
Wine Rating
93
A varietally correct, yet pure and punchy representation of the classic Western Australian blend (74% Sauvignon Blanc, 26% Semillon). The nose is steeped in tropical passionfruit and gooseberry, with underlying grassy notes.
Wonderful structure and focused fruit is the hallmark of this wine, it manages to maintain a baseline of nervy citrus acidity with pristine tropical and citrus fruits emerging and working in harmony. The wine builds in texture and mouthfeel which adds complexity and depth but is not overbearing.
This is drinking well now, but will also reward short term cellaring.
