Review Detail
2016 Shaw and Smith Sauvignon Blanc
Wine Rating
96
A perennial favourite, this is the 27th release of a wine that helped put Adelaide Hills and Australian Sauvignon Blanc on the map, it’s as good a release I have tasted in recent years with concentration and texture that has it hitting well above it’s price point.
A piercingly pure nose of boysenberry, passionfruit and tomato leaf. The palate has a tartness and taut acidity that gives great texture when overlaid against the wines vibrant tropical fruits. The finish is drying and precise and prepares you for another sip.
Sure to be a crowd pleaser as we move towards summer !
