Sauvignon Blanc October 16, 2016
2016 Eldridge Estate Fume Blanc
Wine Rating

95
The slightest yellow hue in the glass with the nose providing what you would expect in terms of passionfruit and a herbaceous kick, but this wine has so much more with background notes of shiitake mushroom and oyster shell that make it one of the most intriguing Sauvignon Blanc’s i have tried.

An elegant wine that builds in structure and depth across the palate, gentle herbs are supported by textural acidity and tart passionfruit. The finish is a long extrapolation of the palate and underpinned by wet slate. This is a serious and enjoyable wine.
