Review Detail
2016 Terre a Terre Crayeres Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc
Wine Rating
93
The wine was fermented in four 600L French oak demi-muids and aged on lees for 9 months without any stirring, just over 2000 bottles were produced.
As is the case with all of the Sauvignon Blanc releases from Terre a Terre there is nothing simple about the wine, aromatically it brings blackberry bud and a lees induced funk to tropical fruits. The palate shows the impact of a warmer year and the wines 13.9% alcohol giving generous mouthfeel and breadth of tropical fruits. There is a mealiness to the wine that works well with bitter blood orange, with oak providing spice and richness to finish.
