Semillon February 10, 2014
2006 Mount Pleasant Anne Semillon
Wine Rating

93
As rumour has it this wine is made from declassified Lovedale in 2006, regardless of whether this is true the wine is a very good Semillon that is only just starting to develop secondary characters.

A light golden yellow in colour, the nose gives lemon zest and lime with background waxy lanolin and flint.

The palate is citrus driven with richer toasted bread characters starting to make their presence felt. The acid is piercing but balanced, the finish reverts to citrus with commanding length.

As with all hunter Semillons this will flourish with more time in the cellar.
