Review Detail
2014 Gundog Estate Vernon Vineyard Semillon
Wine Rating
95
Gundog Estate's star continues to rise, with their current release of Single Vineyard wines showcasing some of the best of the Hunter Valley.
The wine gives a light yellow with a fleck of green in the glass, the nose is just starting to show some developed notes of lanolin and flint that works in with lime and a suggestion of baked passionfruit and crushed herbs. There is a baseline of juicy acidity that is interjected by pangs of gooseberry on the palate. The texture of the wine is impressive, with a waxy, lanolin edged complexity to citrus fruits. The finish is precise and long.
