Review Detail
2018 Huntington Estate Semillon
(Updated: October 23, 2018)
Wine Rating
91
The grapes were picked at 11.3 baume before being fermented in tank and left on lees for two weeks. The wine is bottled early; as is the case with Semillon it basks in it’s youthful exuberance whilst young, but is sure to develop secondary notes with time.
A light yellow in colour, the nose has freshly crushed lemon backed by some tropical notes and plenty of lime zest. The acidity pulls at the enamel but balance is maintained by fuller citrus fruit and tart green apple. The finish is long and precise.
Give this a good decade in the cellar and watch it shine.
