Review Detail
2017 Rosenvale Old Vine Reserve Semillon
Wine Rating
93
The wine was produced from the Twin Crossings Vineyard that was planted in 1940, it was aged in barrel and on lees for 4 months prior to prolonged bottle ageing. A light to straw yellow in the glass, the nose gives lemon curd, brioche and finger limes. The palate has benefited from time in bottle with citrus fruits taking on more buttered toast characters, whilst still enjoying great drive of lemon and lime. Maturation in oak and on lees has given good depth to the palate and afforded an understated mealy note to a lingering lime finish.
