Review Detail
2006 Pimpernel Shiraz Viognier
Wine Rating
95
Medium red in colour, the nose shows herbal plum and light soy characters that for my taste are typically found only in premium cool climate Shiraz that are made in a Syrah rather than Shiraz mould.
The highlight of the wine is the tannin structure that frames dark berry fruit and subtle spices. The finish is complex and textural with savoury and fruit flavours given equal attention on the palate.
