Review Detail
2014 Willunga 100 Shiraz Viognier
Wine Rating
93
There was an addition of 5% Viognier that went into the blend, giving an ever so subtle richness to a satisfyingly brooding and mineral example of McLaren Vale Shiraz.
The wine is a deep red in colour with purple hues towards the rim, the nose gives aromatic plum and dark cherry with a suggestion of earth, the palate has structure and drive well beyond its price point, dark berry fruits with top notes of plum and blackberry move seamlessly across the palate with drying tannins and raw cocoa giving great mouthfeel. The wine finishes with drying plum and general savoury flare.
