Review Detail
2007 Rolf Binder Heinrich Shiraz Mataro Grenache
Wine Rating
93
Dark red with some slight browning toward the rim, a real surprise for the vintage with the wine still showing primary fruit but having great integration of oak and tannin.
The palate gives background leather and motor oil notes to plum fruit and gently spiced oak, tannins are fully resolved and frame the wine well with a baseline of spice and flowing acidity keeping things in balance. Enjoyed from magnum so there may be some variation in smaller bottles.
