They are known as the Grenache experts but the Shiraz Viognier produced by Willunga 100 is a consistent favourite of mine, it combines concentrated varietal fruit with more approachable floral notes before showing a more serious earthen side that makes it a bargain at $22. The inclusion of Viognier (5%) and well integrated oak give a generosity and seamless texture to the wine. The finish is a long and enjoyable mix of lifted plum, sweet earth and gentle spice.
