Review Detail
2014 S.C. Pannell The Vale
Wine Rating
94
A blend of old vine Shiraz and Grenache that whilst not regarded as the classic Australian blend could well be that of McLaren Vale. The wine is a dark, deep red in the glass with a complex nose of dark cherry and plum with a saline and liquorice note.
The palate is medium bodied and built upon a bed of beautifully proportioned tannins that allows the cherry and plum fruit to flow effortlessly from start to finish, oak is very much a secondary input.
The finish is a long integrated array of dark fruit and fine tannin.
