Review Detail
2015 Pertaringa Rampart Vintage Fortified
Wine Rating
94
A vintage fortified has become a rare thing in Australia over recent years, the is a great release with impeccable balance that is a blend of Grenache and Shiraz.
A dark red in the glass the nose has plum and raisin notes with vanillin lift and some delicious brandy spirit. The palate is best described as elegant which is no mean feat given the wine comes in at 19.8% alcohol. The wine is awash with dark fruits and Christmas cake spice with an attractive spirit thread that is a constant from start to finish.
Drinking really well now, but will go for a long time in the cellar.
