2013 d’Arenberg The Laughing Magpie Shiraz Viognier
Wine Rating

93
A blend of 94% Shiraz and 6% Viognier, with the Viognier giving lifted, floral aromatics to black fruits on the nose; bottle age has also given some attractive earthen notes.

The wine is in a great place with tannins having softened and fruit, oak and undergrowth flavours all beginning to meld together. The finish has mouth coating richness but enough acidity to keep things flowing. As always this is a standout in the d’Arenberg lineup in terms of value for money. In this case they have already done the bottle ageing for you too !
