Review Detail
2015 Lou Miranda Shiraz Centarian Mataro
Wine Rating
95
Old vines and 2015 is a wonderful combination with the wine a blend of Shiraz planted in1991 and Mataro in 1897. It’s a wine that is unabashedly full bodied but provides lots of enjoyment in an old school Barossa style. The nose is brimming with spice and vanillin tones with some floral notes to deeper blackberry and plum fruit; time in bottle has afforded a touch of leather.
The palate provides a wine with power and complexity. The palate is awash with blue and black fruits with mocha tones to supple tannins. The finish has great lines with an earthen edge to dark berry fruits and a plushness of oak that is lifted by milk chocolate notes
