Review Detail
2021 Gundog Estate Indomitus Rutilus Shiraz Pinot Noir
Wine Rating
92
A unique blend of Shiraz from the Hunter Valley and Pinot Noir from the Yarra Valley. The aromatics show peppery black cherry and boot leather that are more Shiraz dominant in their impact, yet the palate has more floral and spiced red and black cherry fruits from the Pinot Noir influence. Tannins are fine, as is the acidity with the wine is set against a savoury, earthen backdrop from start to finish. There is excellent drive of black cherry, with an embellishment of cranberry and gentle spice to close.
