Review Detail
Shiraz Blend
May 03, 2011
2003 Rolf Binder Christa Rolf Shiraz Grenache
Wine Rating
92
The wine shows a good deep red hue that is browning to the rim of the glass, there is a nose of cherry fruits from the Grenache and plum aromas from the Shiraz component of the blend.
The palate has excellent concentration, with an array of contrasting flavours on show, there is plum, cherry and tar which is framed by vanillin oak and fine, velvety tannins.
The finish is long, focused and full of dark fruits and spice. The wine has benefited from additional bottle age and should be consumed over the next year or two.
