2001 The Deanery Vineyards Bull Paddock Shiraz
Wine Rating
91
Has a surprisingly youthful red hue given the age, and as expected the nose of a lovely aged Shiraz. The fruit is becoming secondary with the nose having leather, earth and bramble extract with gently spiced plum with pepper.
The palate has weight and structure with ample dark fruits and a web of fine tannin. Leather and cedar like spice roll across the mid palate, the finish is long and layered with fruit and savoury artefact. A touch of bitterness to finish. The wine is holding well for a few more years yet.
