A wonderful wine from a great vintage that highlights the ability of Eldertons Estate range to flourish after medium term cellaring.
The 04 Estate Shiraz was tasted alongside the Elderton current release super premiums, and more than held its own.
The wine is a deep red in colour, but holding up well for its age , the nose has concentrated plum and violets superbly backed by vanillin oak.
The palate carries its 15% alcohol effortlessly with satsuma plum integrating with a swathe of spices, licorice and oak derived complexity.
The finish is summed up by balance , with fine, firm tannins giving great structure to the rich yet elegant palate.
