2004 Tatiarra Trademark Shiraz
Wine Rating

The 2004 Trademark was produced by Ben Riggs and Peter Flewellyn and is a blend of two premier Australian Shiraz regions, McLaren Vale in South Australia and Heathcote in Victoria. The marketing material reads that the best two barrels from McLaren Vale and Heathcote were blended by the winemakers to create this wine.

A dark red in the glass gives no sign that the wine is nearing it’s 10th birthday, the nose opens up with time, starting savoury and gaining dark fruits and attractive vanillin oak.

A plump, dense and texturally appealing wine with plum and blackberry given a milk chocolate richness from quality oak. Tannins are supportive and do justice to the fullness of the wine. The finish gives gentle spice and a touch of liquorice to go along with ample black fruits.
