2005 Murray Street Vineyards Greenock Shiraz

Almost black in colour with red around the rim of the glass, the nose shows wonderfully concentrated plum and violets that is ever so Barossa.

The nose rather than being confected is deep and brooding with roasted meats a descriptor that is not out of place.

The palate has concentration of plum , but also a tannin structure that manages to control the fruit, tannins that would be firm in other wines are soft and balanced in the context of this wine.

The wine has a leathery / earthy input on the mid to back palate and has tremendous length of stewed plum fruit on the finish.

Drinking superbly now and over the next 5 years.
