2006 Sanguine Inception Shiraz

Heathcote is known for it’s reds that are steeped in red and dark fruits, as well as being accustomed to being enhanced by quality oak. These characters create a level of consistency on release, however It is with time that the regions very good wines come into their own.

The 2006 is in a good spot, there are herbal, meaty aspects that play well against savoury but varietal dark berry fruits.

The palate has considered acid and tannin which has mellowed in alignment with the fruit but still provides mouthful and texture. The plum and blackberry fruit sits well alongside subtle spice and a touch of sage to finish.
