Medium to deep red in colour, unlike a number of the S.C. Pannell collection there is toasty vanillin oak on the nose that is matched with plum and a touch of cherry.
The palate has ripe cherry and currant character that is framed by cedary oak; the back palate has mouth filling tannins that are starting to soften and develop some more leathery character, the finish shows good length.
