2017 Gundog Hunter's Shiraz

Produced from the Sometset, Tinkler and Hillside vineyards in Polkolbin. The wine was aged in French Oak Puncheons for 9 months prior to blending and bottling.

A medium red hue in the glass with attractive dark cherry and plum with sweet earth on the nose.

The palate is medium bodied with an earthen core of bracken and clay and layers of fine tannin that works in with an enjoyable baseline of acidity that gives both texture and youthfulness. The finish enjoys a slow but satisfying build of understated leather and tar with more concentrated black plum and blackberry fruit leaving a lasting impression.
