Review Detail
2007 Eleven Paddocks McKinlay Shiraz
Wine Rating
92
Deep red in colour, slightly lighter towards the rim, the nose shows blackberry and sour cherry fruit with sweet cinnamon spices backed by a touch of eucalypt.
The palate is just starting to get into the classical Pyrenees mode that typifies the very good wines from this region with subtle licorice and framing tannins starting to pull the focus away from plush plum and blackberry fruit.
This wine has a wonderful structure with the highlight being the fine drying tannins, gentle spices and expansive mouth feel on the lingering finish.
