Review Detail
2003 Geoff Merrill Henley Shiraz
Wine Rating
93
A deep red in colour with a brick red hue around the rim of the glass.
The nose is wonderfully intense and layered with leathery plum, cedar and a dash of cinnamon.
The wine shows a similar intensity and depth on the palate as it does the nose.
Dense plum is given a cedary lift by quality oak , the tannins are superfine and provide a roundness that is juxtaposed by well proportioned acidity and gentle spices.
The wine finishes with leathery plum and dense oak that lingers.
