2014 Plantagenet Lancaster Shiraz

A Shiraz with all the trimmings, this is a good example of the variety from Mount Barker which showcases elegant, textured but restrained fruit and judicious use of Oak

A youthful red with purple hues towards the rim, the nose gives violet and plum thats laced with charcuterie and vanillin notes. The palate has pepper and cedar alongside juicy dark cherry and plum fruit with acidity that is taut and flowing. Tannins frame the mid to back palate with a meatiness that is then washed away by dark berry fruits and a touch of licorice.

Will greatly reward medium term cellaring.
