2013 Hanging Rock Heathcote Shiraz
Wine Rating

96
A meagre 5.1 Tonne were harvested from the 20 acre ‘Athol’s Paddock’ vineyard, the low yield has created a wine of exceptional concentration, but one that has\ maintained definition, texture and class.

The blend of new French and American oak provides an array of aromatics on the nose in the baking spice spectrum that melds with violets and dark plum. The palate presents plenty of tannin up front that works in concert with beautifully proportioned plum, blackberry and dark cherry fruit. The finish enjoys a milk chocolate like richness and a saturation of spiced plum. A complete and compelling wine.

As is the case with almost all of the Hanging Rock Heathcote Shiraz releases it will live for a very long time.
