1990 Hanging Rock Heathcote Shiraz
Wine Rating

95
As is the case in much of South Eastern Australia 1990 was a great vintage. The wine was picked at full physiological ripeness but was still only 12.5% alcohol.

A good, deep colour for a 27 year old wine with a nose that enjoys well defined plum fruit and generous spice.

The wine has great presence with remarkably tightly bound fruit and oak that benefits from finely filamented tannin and layers of spice. The length to finish is excellent with subtle secondary notes of leather and earth adding get another dimension.

Will go for a number of years yet.
