Review Detail
2003 Hanging Rock Heathcote Shiraz
Wine Rating
96
A near perfect vintage in Heathcote with the vineyard yielding a little over 1 tonne an acre. The wine was matured for 24 months in new steam bent American Oak.
A great colour that has retained some purple hues, the nose gives aromatic vanillin oak and brown spices with ripe black fruits and touches of liqourice.
The palate shows concentration and depth of dark plum and cherry that unfolds with layers of earth, spice and fruit. The tannins are drying, fine and impactful. The length immense.
