Review Detail
2005 Hanging Rock Heathcote Shiraz
Wine Rating
88
A tougher year in Heathcote with the slightly higher alcohols not holding up to time in the same manner as some of the preceding and following vintages of the wine.
The nose gives a milky and earthy interpretation of dark fruits with some flashes of spice. The palate is fruit forward and a little soupy in terms of texture and balance, the finish brings into focus enjoyable oak inputs which gives some definition.
Best enjoyed over the shorter term.
