Shiraz October 25, 2017
2006 Hanging Rock Heathcote Shiraz
Wine Rating

96
2006 was a great vintage, and this is a great aged Shiraz. The wine comes in at 15% alcohol but doesn’t show it, it has the fruit to soak up both the alcohol the 24 months it spent in new American Oak.

An impenetrable dark red in the glass with a nose that melds tar and roses like aromatics with dark fruits and spice. The palate is complete and complex with seamless oak integration and fruit that has elegance but power. The finish reveals layer after layer of dark fruits and spice.
