Shiraz November 18, 2017
2012 Hanging Rock Heathcote Shiraz
Wine Rating

96
A great year in terms of both yield and quality with a myriad of different winemaking techniques on show by Rob Ellis in his second vintage at the helm. The wine gives a vibrant purple hue in the glass with aromatic plum and boysenberry on the nose.

A layered expression of Shiraz with a well formed tannin structure that’s accentuated by generous spice and concentrated dark berry fruits with beautiful fruit weight and mouth feel. The wine is just starting to take on some subtle secondary complexity, but will continue to evolve into a classic release with concentration and complexity meeting elegance.
