2016 Penley Estate Special Select Coonawarra Shiraz

A nose of rosemary, cured meat and blackberry give a complex and enjoyable array of aromatics. The palate continues the earthen, meaty thread with concentrated blackberry and plum fruit enjoying a fine and chalky layer of tannin. The tannins also add a chocolate like note to the fruit and gives a lingering and drying backbone to the wine. The finish is long, with a choc mint aspect that’s melded with dark fruits and provides a lingering impact.
