You could be fooled thinking this was from Hermitage if tasted blind with the charcuterie, earthen notes that frame the nose yet there is black olive and piercingly precise and attractive plum fruits that speak of the Yarra Valley. The thing that pulls this together is a sheath of beautifully integrated French oak.

This is a wine that flows seamlessly from start to finish, with a suppleness of tannin and integrated oak a constant. Plum, black cherry, clove and earth are intertwined with another before a touch of earth, black olive and leather rounds out the wine.

Worth every dollar.
