Review Detail

2013 Lou Miranda Single Vineyard Shiraz
Wine Rating

94
A wine that is produced from vines planted over 100 years ago, an inky dark red with lighter hues to the rim. The nose showcases the charred and vanillin inputs of American oak that is more than matched by plum fruit.

Oak is a dominant force on the palate, with a sultry leathery note that supports brooding dark berry fruit. Tannins are drying but well integrated with the fruit.

The finish has significant length with Plum fruit joined by dark cherry and layers of vanillin and earthen richness.

A big, bold take no prisoners Barossa Shiraz.
