Review Detail
2016 d’Arenberg The Footbolt Shiraz
Wine Rating
91
A great value release that has revelled in the excellent vintage conditions that 2016 provided for McLaren Vale. An inky dark red in the glass with a nose that is packed with violets and plum alongside charry oak influences.
The palate show a wine that is well and truly punching beyond its price point with concentrated and tarry black fruits accentuated by bitter dark chocolate and cedar spice. There are driving dark berry fruits with grainy tannins to finish with a good kick of acidity that underwrites plenty of future development.
